Ministries

Schertz United Methodist strives to help our community by living out the words of John Wesley: "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." Our ministries are built on this foundation, offering support, care, and opportunities for growth to all who need it. Whether through service projects, outreach programs, or fellowship activities, we are committed to making a positive impact and serving others in any way we can.

We provide food to students in need on weekends when they are unable to get food from their school. We serve about 50-60 students every school year.

Gabriel's Angels
Our church's visitation team goes out into the community to visit with members that can no longer attend church due to illness, injury, surgery recovery, or immobility. It is our mission to let them know that, although they are unable to attend their church, their church has not forgotten them.
Good Neighbor Connection
Good Neighbor Connection (GNC) is a coalition of area churches whose purpose is to serve the community by spreading God’s love and connecting those in need of assistance with local resources.  Our purpose is to bring shalom (peace) to our neighbors.

Grace Place Learning Center
Grace Place Learning Center (GPLC) opened as a ministry of Schertz United Methodist Church (SUMC) in August of 2012 to serve families with children 6 weeks through Pre-K. We believe that every child is a child of God and a unique individual. The purpose of Grace Place Learning Center is to provide a Christian environment with a variety of developmentally appropriate opportunities for children to grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. We strive to help each child develop a strong sense of self and his/her place in God’s world.
