What to Expect

  • On your initial visit, you will be asked to complete a form with basic information about your child to help us provide the best care.
  • During this time, we invite you to walk through the nursery area, meet the staff, and ask any questions you may have.
  • We also welcome you to stay as long as needed with your child during your initial visit.

What to Bring

  • Please provide extra clothes, diapers, and bottles for feeding.
  • For older children, the nursery provides drinking cups, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
  • Please label all personal items.

Crying Children

  • We will do our best to keep your child happy.
  • If they are crying, we will calm them and work to divert their attention.
  • If after 15 consecutive minutes, they cannot be consoled, we will contact you.

Sick Child Policy

We understand that young children can be susceptible to illness. We can all work together to help maintain a health environment for them.

Your Part

  • Children should be free from symptoms at least 48 hours prior to being around other children.
  • If antibiotics are prescribed by a physician, children may attend the nursery 24 hours after their first dose.
  • Children with pink eye may attend 24 hours after antibiotic treatment AND after drainage has ceased.
  • Skin rashes should be evaluated by a physician prior to visiting the nursery.

Our Part

  • Toys are sanitized weekly and hand washed once a month.
  • Changing station is cleaned after each use.
  • Blankets, pillow covers, and play mats are machine washed.
  • Nursery includes two HEPA air filters.
  • Nursery is disinfected after each use.
  • Staff are CPR, AED, and basic first aid certified.
Safe Gatherings is a comprehensive system that incorporates an online application, online abuse prevention training, several levels of background checks, and paperless reference checks for people who volunteer or are employed with churches, schools, and organizations that serve or work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Safe Gatherings also provides access to Clergy and Ministerial Ethics training, a two-hour online course that covers the top ethical and congregational boundary issues faced today by clergy and other ministry leaders.

Childcare Registration

If your child is new to our church nursery, please complete a registration form. Registration forms must be updated every year or if there are changes that need to be notated.
